General (retired) Arie van der Vlis

Arie van der Vlis started his military career at the Royal Netherlands Military Academy. As a high-potential officer, education at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in Great Britain and the US Army War College in the United States soon followed. As a general he held positions as Commander of the 12th Armed Infantry Brigade, Deputy Commander of the Army and Commander of the 1st Army Corps. In 1992 he was promoted to 4-star general and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces (CDS). After his retirement as Supreme Commander he was promoted to Adjutant in special service to H.M the Queen. Now and again he acts as a guest speaker for radio and television on international security issues.
 
 
 
 

 

Ger Maathuis Dr. Ir. Ing.

Ger Maathuis is the lead auditor for de Dutch Accreditation Council. This council assesses both the management system and the technical competency of a conformity-certifying body, like ISO, SII and BSI. In addition the accreditation body exercises supervision to guarantee the impartiality and expertise of the conformity-certifying body. He has developed an ISO 9001 advice-model for small and middle-large companies, which is implemented by his advisors in different organisations around the world.

 


 

 

Fred Horbeek

Fred Horbeek was Head of Security Co-ordination at Rabobank Group until 2003. In this position he was effectively responsible for the management of operational risks, including all aspects of information security; combating fraud, errors and mistakes and other incidents; and combating money laundering. His main responsibilities included risk analysis and assessment, prevention, (awareness) training, investigation, recovery and continuity planning, privacy, crisis management, the application of and compliance with related laws & regulations and evaluation & reporting.

 


 

 

Cees de Rover MBA, MIL(hons)

Cees de Rover is the Executive Director of Equity International, a position he has held since 1998. Cees is a former senior police official of the Netherlands. He has held advisory posts within the United Nations System (including Senior Adviser on Law Enforcement and Security Issues to the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General in Burundi). He has also worked extensively for the International Committee of the Red Cross -as Coordinator Police and Security Forces and, most recently, as Head Operational Support (Communication Division). Cees has advised and consulted with a range of organisations both within and outside the United Nations System in the field of human rights, humanitarian law and professional law enforcement practice. He has conducted training and assessment missions for police and security forces in more than fifty countries in Latin and Central America, Africa, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Asia. In addition to his formal policing qualifications Cees holds a diploma in Marketing (NIMA A), a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA), and a Masters Degree in Public International Law (MIL hons).
